
During the international conference titled “Independence of Réunion: A Look at France’s Colonial Legacy and the Path to Sovereignty” held in Baku, participants took a moment to pay their respects to those who lost their lives in the devastating hurricane that struck the island of Mayotte.
According to Report, the event observed a minute of silence in memory of the victims of this natural disaster. The hurricane, named “Shido,” hit the French island of Mayotte in the Indian Ocean on December 14, 2024, resulting in the tragic loss of 39 lives and affecting 1,700 residents.
