The government of Azerbaijan is providing a special free visa for registered participants of the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Participants can apply for the visa through the UNFCCC online registration system.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the “Special COP29 Visa” can be obtained either through a link in the UNFCCC registration confirmation letter sent to participants or through Azerbaijani diplomatic missions and consulates abroad. In the latter case, the COP29 registration letter will be considered as the primary supporting document for travel.
The Special COP29 Visa grants the holder the right to single entry and stay in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan for up to 30 days. If there is a need to leave the country and return to Azerbaijan again, participants should reapply for a visa using the UNFCCC registration number under which the initial visa was obtained.
“The Special COP29 Visa will be issued within three (3) working days after submitting an online application through the official portal (onlinereg.unfccc.int/onlinereg) or after applying to Azerbaijani diplomatic missions and consulates abroad,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
