The IT/TI Conference and Exhibition of the World Customs Organization (WCO) has started at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Prime Minister Novruz Mammadov read out Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s congratulatory message to the event participants.
Novruz Mammadov highlighted the work done to develop the information technologies area in the country. The Prime Minister noted that the head of state attaches great importance to all fields, including the IT. Novruz Mammadov underlined the State Customs Committee’s contribution to the development of the information technologies sector.
Novruz Mammadov described the fact that Baku hosts the WCO conference as a clear evidence of successful development of the information technologies in Azerbaijan.
Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee Safar Mehdiyev stressed the importance of the event. He drew the audience’s attention to the reforms implemented in Azerbaijan to improve digital customs administration. “This conference is very important to the WCO member states’ custom services as it provides a platform to exchange views and experience on information technologies and solutions,” Safar Mehdiyev added.
