During a meeting with students of the Report Media School, Bahram Batiyev, deputy editor-in-chief of Caliber.az news website discussed the mutual relationships between workers in the editorial office.
Report informs that Batiyev emphasized the importance of collaboration between reporters and editors in journalism.
“The editor is your first reader. If they are dissatisfied with the submitted article, then it’s worth checking the mistakes made. News should be prepared briefly, accurately, and concisely. It’s also necessary to focus on social media and determine the direction of the news. If there’s room for doubt, it shouldn’t be published in the press,” the journalist stated.
The deputy editor-in-chief noted that journalists should direct their energy to work to the maximum extent:
“Journalists don’t have a fixed work schedule, they need to be always active because you have to move a lot to obtain information. During the 44-day war, I could only go home a few times. Often, due to the news flow, I had to spend nights at the editorial office.”
Bahram Batiyev was born in Baku in 1978. He studied at the journalism faculty of Azerbaijan International University (AIU) from 1999 to 2003. He began his journalism career at Nash Vek newspaper in 2002. He worked as an editor at 1news.az, a journalist at vesti.az, and an editor at armiya.az. Since 2021, he has been the deputy editor-in-chief at Caliber.az.
He was awarded the Taraggi Medal (Progress Medal) in 2020.
