Along with increasing the generation capacity in the country, significant work has been done to reconstruct the transmission infrastructure, said the President of AzerEnergy Baba Rzayev.

According to him, high-voltage power lines have been laid in order to improve the exchange of electricity with neighboring Georgia and Iran, increase export opportunities. A 330 kW Agstafa-Gardabani transmission line was built and put into operation at a distance of 43.4 km, and the export capacity doubled (700 MW).

Rzayev said that the construction of the 67.5-kilometer 220 kW “Masalli (Azerbaijan) -Astara (Iran)” transmission line, which began in 2013, is nearing completion: “The construction of new interstate power transmission lines will further boost Azerbaijan’s energy exchange potential and encourage our country’s access to the international energy market.”
