Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov met with Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin during his working visit to Sochi on June 8, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers.

At the meeting, the sides noted with satisfaction that through the efforts of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia, relations between the two countries have reached the level of strategic partnership.

The steady growth of mutual trade and investment was regarded as clear evidence of the dynamic development of bilateral relations.

The importance of the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, which is scheduled to be held at the end of this month in Moscow, was stressed.

The prime ministers also noted the good results of cooperation in agriculture.

The transport and logistics sector was mentioned as an important vector of cooperation. In this regard, mutual readiness was expressed to continue joint efforts to ensure the functioning of the international North-South transit corridor at full capacity.

The parties noted the accumulated extensive experience of successful industrial cooperation and positively assessed the interaction in the field of joint production.
