Hikmat Hajiyev, the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, is celebrating his 42nd birthday today.

Report informs that Hikmat Hajiyev was born in Ganja on October 15, 1979. He finished secondary school No 24 in Ganja. He obtained a BA and MA degree at the faculty of international relations and international law of the Baku State University.

From 2014 through 2018, Hikmat Hajiyev led the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.  He was awarded the Medal “For Distinction in the Diplomatic Service” and the 2nd degree Order “For Services to the Fatherland.”

From September 18, 2018, he was acting deputy head of the Foreign Policy Affairs department at the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, and on November 26, 2018, he was appointed the head of this department.

On November 29, 2019, he was appointed Assistant to President of Azerbaijan and Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan.

He knows Russian, Turkish, English, and French languages. He is married and has two children.
