
Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova and head of the Austria-South Caucasus friendship group Andreas Minnich have discussed intensifying contacts between legislative bodies, Report informs referring to the public relations and press department of the parliament.
The meeting took place within the visit of the delegation led by Minnich to Azerbaijan.
During the conversation, the parties examined the possibilities of intensifying contacts between friendship groups of legislative bodies and cooperation between parliamentary committees.
At the meeting, the speaker of the parliament noted that Azerbaijan, after restoring its territorial integrity, faced pressure from international organizations in which Islamophobia and Azerbaijanophobia reign. She called it a clear example of double standards.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova also criticized the refusal of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to ratify the powers of the Azerbaijani delegation.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
