According to the training plan for 2022 approved by the Defense Minister of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov, the military training session continues in one of the military units in order to improve the combat skills of reservists, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
The training session demonstrated the movement of special groups during the battle by the use of various methods.
During the training, participants are taught the performance characteristics of weapons, the rules of incomplete disassembly and use, as well as methods of evacuating the wounded by giving first aid.
The training session will last until January 29.
Tank and cannon shells were found in the Samur-Absheron Canal, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Emergencies Situations (MES).
The “hot line” of the Ministry of Emergency Situations 112 received information about the discovery of ammunition in the section of the Samur-Absheron canal, passing through the territory of the village of Gobu, Absheron District.
In this regard, a group of pyrotechnicians of the Ministry of Emergency Situations immediately arrived at the scene. During the inspection of the scene, pyrotechnicians found one 125-mm BK-14 tank projectile and one 122-mm OF-56 cannon projectile (without a fuse).
The shells were removed from the territory and disposed of.
Thanks to the attention and care of President of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, measures are being taken to improve the social and living status, the service conditions of the servicemen of the Azerbaijan army to increase the combat readiness of the troops.
Deputy Defense Minister – Head of the Main Logistics Department, Lieutenant-General Nizam Osmanov inspected the newly-built modular infrastructure in the Kalbajar-Lachin direction of the state border transferred to the use of the personnel, the Defense Ministry told Report.
All the necessary conditions for high-quality organization and combat duty have been created there. A barracks equipped with heating, an armory, a dining room, a kitchen, a food warehouse, and a bath and sanitary unit. Generators have been installed to ensure an uninterrupted power supply to the territory.
Lieutenant-General Nizam Osmanov brought to the attention of the commanding staff the relevant instructions of the defense minister to further increase the level of combat duty and the combat capability of the troops.
The main purpose of the session, involving a group of reservists, is to improve their combat and military skills, experience, as well as get acquainted with modern weapons and military equipment in the Azerbaijan Army, and learn their rules of operation.
The reservists involved in the training were provided with military uniforms and other supplies after appropriate registration and medical examination at the headquarters of the assembly point.
Then a cultural event was organized for the training session participants. At first, the memory of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, and compatriots, who became Shehids (Martyrs) for the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was honored with observing a minute of silence. Then the National Anthem was performed.
Speakers at the events spoke about the victory of the Azerbaijan Army, gained under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the historical significance of the victory. It was noted that the training session will have a positive impact on reservists’ combat and moral-psychological readiness.

Deputy Minister of Defense – Chief of the Main Department of Logistics, Lieutenant General Nizam Osmanov attended the opening of the modular infrastructure recently built in the Fuzuli region.
It was reported that all the necessary needs of the military personnel were met in the modular accommodation points built in combat positions. There are weapon rooms, canteens, kitchens, food and clothing warehouses, bath and laundry facilities, as well as dormitories equipped with heating stoves in these points.
Generators were installed to provide the area with uninterrupted electricity. In addition, a car park, as well as sports area and mini-football field were built for the effective organization of servicemen’s leisure time. Landscaping work was carried out in the unit’s area and various types of trees were planted.
Lieutenant General N. Osmanov enquired about the combat and logistics of military personnel and wished them success in their service. The Deputy Minister also delivered the relevant instructions of the Minister of Defense to the personnel and presented valuable gifts to a group of distinguished servicemen.
In the end, the Deputy Minister attended the opening of a new headquarters building in the regional branch of the Defense Ministry’s central food warehouse, where he got acquainted with the conditions created for conducting high-level military service, as well as the process of receiving, storing and distributing food to troops.
Mine and artillery shells were found in Absheron, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) told Report.
It is noted that Hotline 112 of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received information about the discovery of ammunition in the Gushchulug residential area of Khirdalan city in Absheron District.
A group of pyrotechnicians from the Special Risk Rescue Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was immediately dispatched to the scene.
During the inspection of the scene, pyrotechnicians found a 122-mm OF-56 artillery shell, one 82-mm OF-832 mortar shell, and one 122-mm BK-m shell.
The shells were removed from the territory for subsequent disposal.
During additional searches in the specified territory and adjacent areas, no other dangerous or suspicious items were found.
In keeping with the approved combat training plan, training assemblies for commanding officers were held in military units with company commanders of the Azerbaijani Army, Report informs, citing the Defence Ministry.
In the course of the training camps at the theoretical and practical classes in combined arms drills, the commanders performed various tasks using high technologies.
The main purpose of the training camps is to improve the commanding and practical skills of the commanders.
Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov has visited the Azerbaijan Military Academy named after Heydar Aliyev.
First, flowers were laid at the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the school area and the memory of the Great Leader was honored.
Then a meeting with the officers and cadets of the school, as well as professors and teachers was held at the Academy’s club.

It was emphasized that the moral and political support of fraternal Turkey played an important role during the war.
Congratulating the military personnel on the beginning of the new training year, the minister stressed that he highly appreciates the heroism and courage shown by the Military Academy’s graduates during the Patriotic War.
The defense minister noted that the personnel reforms carried out in the Azerbaijan Army using new technologies play a significant role in strengthening the army.
It was noted that bringing the military specialists training program at the Military Academy in line with the programs applied at the military schools of the National Defense University of the Turkish Republic is one of the significant steps aimed at training professional officers in the Azerbaijan Army.
Then Colonel General Hasanov enquired about the cadets’ concerns and wished them success in their studies and further service.
In the end, the minister of defense gave relevant instructions on the organization of the military education system at a higher level.
The units were put on alert, assembled in designated areas, and were brought to the state of combat readiness with the deployment of command and control bodies in the area.
The main purpose of the exercises was to improve the activities of the headquarters and the interoperability between the units when bringing the military unit to various stages of combat readiness, as well as to increase the commanders’ ability to manage units in combat and agile decision-making skills.
During the exercises, the military personnel successfully accomplished the assigned tasks.
According to the combat training plan, the first training exercises of the 2022 training year were held in the Land Forces Operations Commando military unit.
Report informs, citing the Ministry of Defense, that, in accordance with the plan, the area, where the sabotage group of the imaginary enemy was supposed to commit provocation, was determined on the basis of intelligence data. The military personnel left the places of their permanent deployment and moved in the direction of the operational area to suppress the possible provocations.
The commandos surrounded and neutralized the provocative-sabotage group of the imaginary enemy and took measures within the norms and principles of international humanitarian law regarding persons detained during the fulfillment of tasks.
The tasks aimed at improving the tactical skills of the personnel as well as further improving the combat capability of commando units in areas with harsh climatic conditions and difficult terrain have been successfully fulfilled.
The Special Army deployed in the exclave of Nakhichevan conducted special tactical exercises during which the air defense system of the conditional enemy preparing for provocation was rendered harmless.
Report informs citing the press service of the Special Army that in conformity with the scenario of the exercises, the special forces were instructed to destroy the air defense systems of the conditional enemy targeting their strategic facilities and airspace.
The commander of the Special Army, Colonel-General Karam Mustafayev, and the military personnel of the Turkish Armed Forces highly appreciated the skills of the personnel in the fight against terrorism.
Azerbaijani servicemen will take part in international exercises, the Defense Ministry told Report.
Proceeding from the instructions of Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, activities are underway to increase the professionalism of the personnel of the Azerbaijani army.
In the 2022 academic year, Azerbaijani servicemen are planned to participate in over 30 international drills and competitions, the report adds.
Eternity-2022, EFES-2022, Unshakable Brotherhood-2022, Winter Training-2022, International Army Games-2022, and other international training and competitions will be held to hone skills and contribute to the exchange of experience of servicemen to be involved.
In addition, Azerbaijani servicemen are expected to participate in various international seminars and conferences in 2022.
