
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov received the newly appointed ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Omar Al-Nahar, Report informs, referring to MFA.
The ambassador presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The Azerbaijani FM congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his future activities.
The sides discussed issues on the current bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between the two countries.
Stating that the current development of political relations will give impetus to the further development of bilateral economic relations, Minister Bayramov emphasized the importance of developing cooperation in economy, tourism, education, and other fields, the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission, and the significance of high-level mutual visits.
The importance of continued cooperation within the framework of regional and international organizations and platforms, including the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), was emphasized.
The minister briefed the other party in detail about Armenia’s occupation of our territories for nearly 30 years, ethnic cleansing policy, as well as Armenia’s ongoing provocations and separatist efforts in the post-conflict period after the 44-day Patriotic War.
Noting that the two countries have a great potential for the development of cooperation in a number of fields, the ambassador said that he will spare no efforts for the further development of relations between Jordan and Azerbaijan during his diplomatic activity.
The sides also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
