The information went viral earlier that specialists from the Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, the State Service on Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy, and AzerGold company arrived in the area of the Karabakh region, in which the Russian peacekeepers are stationed, to investigate and monitor the illegal exploitation of minerals and related environmental consequences.
During the meeting with the command of the peacekeeping forces, the Azerbaijani representatives are discussing the possibilities, and ways of investigating and monitoring this criminal activity.
“The solution of these issues depends on you, the peacekeepers, on your assistance,” Azerbaijani experts told General Volkov.
As a result of negotiations, representatives of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and AzerGold company, accompanied by Russian peacekeepers, traveled to Khankendi.
The issue of organising and conducting environmental monitoring in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, in which Russian peacekeepers are temporarily deployed, will be discussed at the headquarters of the peacekeepers.
