The BE-200ÇS amphibious aircraft from the Aviation Detachment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dispatched to assist in combating severe forest fires in Türkiye by order of President Ilham Aliyev, continues its firefighting operations, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Emergency Situations Ministry.

“As a part of the operation, the aircraft has been deployed to combat fires in the forested area near Izmir-Bergama. Currently, firefighting efforts are ongoing,” the ministry stated.

Airborne and practical parachute jump exercises are held with the units of the Air Force in accordance with the training plan for 2024 approved by the Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov.

The Ministry of Defense told Report that during the exercises, parachute-landing, search-rescue specialists and the flight crew accomplish various flight tasks and introductory parachute training.
Plus, actions are carried out to drop cargo from the air to the designated point.

The exercises are focused on improving the parachuting skills of servicemen and further increasing their level of combat and special training and accomplish the assigned tasks with high professionalism.

Mountaineering training is conducted with the personnel of the Marine units of the Azerbaijani Navy under the training plan for 2024, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.

The movement of groups in difficult terrain conditions, descent from hard rocks, crossing rivers and lakes, as well as episodes of evacuating the wounded in unfavorable terrain are performed according to the scenario of the exercise.

The main goal of the exercise is to adapt the combat training of personnel to modern requirements, to master the theoretical and practical basics of fighting and self-defense skills according to the calls of the time.

In accordance with the training plan for 2024, the units of the Engineering Troops of the Azerbaijan Army hold sessions with driver-mechanics and drivers, Report informs referring to the Defense Ministry.

At the sessions, servicemen demonstrate professionalism while fulfilling the assigned tasks.

Within the sessions, the main attention is paid to improving the combat readiness of personnel, enhancing the knowledge and skills, as well as developing practical skills.

Helicopter units of Azerbaijan Air Force hold live-fire exercise under the training plan for 2024, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.

Prior to the flight, the tasks were specified on the map, the target report was made and the safety rules were communicated to the personnel.

According to the plan, helicopter units made flights from the base airfield in a group and accomplished the tasks on destroying the surface targets of the imaginary enemy at the training range.

Formula 1’s Dutch Grand Prix FP3 has been red-flagged after American driver Logan Sargeant’s Williams was left crumbled and in flames following a big crash, Report informs via Daily Express US.

The West’s arming of Armenia could pose a threat not only to Azerbaijan but also to the Russian military personnel, according to Fuad Huseynaliyev, the director of the Report Information Agency.

According to Report, in an appearance on the Gundam program aired on the ARB24 channel, Huseynaliyev shed light on the potential motives behind the West’s military support for Armenia.

“The militarization of Armenia could pave the way for a series of events in the region,” Huseynaliyev stated. “The West, through this means, could engage in espionage against Iran, monitor the processes there, and exert control over the Russian military base. A situation might even arise where the issue of removing the Russian military base comes to the fore. Perhaps, Western weapons will also be directed against Russian soldiers. We cannot completely ignore this possibility.”

Huseynaliyev emphasized that the roots of the West’s arming of Armenia can be traced back to the Armenia-European Union-US meeting held in Brussels in April and the document signed there. However, he noted that this militarization cannot, in any case, change the balance between the Azerbaijani and Armenian military industries in the near future.

Under the training plan for 2024, a tactical-special exercise is being conducted with the Air Defense troops’ radio technical units of the Air Force, Report informs, referring to Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry.

The units brought to combat mode on alert, carried out tasks of timely detecting small-sized, low-altitude, and low-speed targets, and relaying this information to the appropriate units.

The main goal of the exercise is to enhance the operations staff’s practical skills in repelling sudden air attacks by an imaginary enemy and to study methods for effectively using the combat capabilities of radio engineering and communication means in various weather, ground, and electronic warfare conditions.

Turkish channel Haber Global has reported on the support that Azerbaijan provides to Türkiye in the fight against forest fires, Report informs.

The prepared video tells about the Be-200CS amphibious aircraft sent to Türkiye on the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev.

The aircraft is actively involved in extinguishing fires in Izmir and Mugla.

Since its arrival, it has dropped 114 tons of water on the fire-engulfed areas, providing significant assistance in the fight against it. It is noted that the personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan are fully prepared to provide additional assistance if the Turkish side requests it.

The report also mentions a telephone conversation between the leaders of the two countries, during which President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that Azerbaijan is ready to provide any additional support to the fraternal country in the fight against forest fires.

The Azerigaz Production Union of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has commenced the restoration and construction works in the natural gas supply infrastructure in the city of Khankandi, Report informs, citing Azerigaz.

After the 44-day Patriotic War, major construction works are underway in all the liberated territories. Azerigaz is also carrying out a number of necessary works regarding infrastructure reconstruction.

According to an Azerigaz official, Vasif Masimov, a total of 41,000 meters of underground gas pipelines have already been identified: “In connection with the construction and improvement works, the gas pipelines will be supplied with natural gas and the modal testing of the gas pipelines continues.”

Masimov noted that the parts of the gas pipelines damaged during anti-terrorist operations were closed by welding to prevent future accidents.
