Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have engaged in discussions to diversify their joint efforts for the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor, also known as the Middle Corridor, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (ADY).

The talks took place during a meeting between Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of ADY, and Zufar Narzullayev, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Railways JSC held on the sidelines of a consultative meeting of railway administration heads in Baku, aimed at establishing the Eurasian Transport Route International Association.

The two officials discussed the key areas of cooperation in the transport sector between their countries and other crucial matters of mutual interest. They also emphasized the importance of strengthening joint efforts within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the railway administrations in June this year.

Notably, the meeting highlighted the significant contribution of Uzbekistan to the development of the Eurasian Transport Route through the implementation of the new Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway project.
