
Saudi Arabia is deeply committed to supporting Azerbaijan’s green energy transition, the Kingdom’s Energy Ministry told Report.
“Our expertise in large-scale renewable energy projects, including solar and wind, can be shared with Azerbaijan to accelerate the development of sustainable energy infrastructure. One area where we can collaborate is through the transfer of technology for renewable energy generation and storage solutions,” the ministry said.
The ministry added that cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan in the energy sector spans several critical areas, including oil and gas exploration, refining, and technological advancements.
“We place particular emphasis on expanding our collaborative efforts in the areas of energy security and sustainability. The success of projects like the joint venture between Saudi Aramco and SOCAR, particularly in downstream activities, underscores the importance of strengthening our energy ties. Moreover, both nations are committed to advancing cooperation in the development of renewable energy and addressing the challenges of energy transition, which remains a strategic priority for both countries,” the ministry said.
The ministry also highlighted the important role Azerbaijan plays as a member of the COPC+ Declaration of Co-operation group of countries in helping to balance international oil markets, thereby enhancing global energy security.
