
In January 2024r, Azerbaijan imported 7,663 vehicles for various purposes worth $138.987 million, Report informs, citing the country’s State Customs Committee.
This represents an increase of 22.5% and 23.8% respectively compared to the same period last year.
During the year, the import of motor vehicles designed to carry 10 or more people including the driver increased 3.6 times to 71 units (worth $5.813 million), while the import of passenger cars and other motor vehicles mainly designed for carrying people increased by 22.4% to 6,906 units (worth $122.219 million).
Of these vehicles, 3,654 (worth $72.38 million) are vehicles powered by both internal combustion engines and electric motors, while 139 (worth $6.6 million) are vehicles powered only by electric motors, a 3-fold increase in the former and a 41.8% decrease in the latter.
