The Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva has made a statement regarding the mass grave discovered in Shusha, Report informs.
“Another mass grave, testifying to the murder and mass burial of people during the period of Armenian occupation in the liberated Azerbaijani territories, was discovered today in Shusha city. According to preliminary data, the remains of at least four people were found in this grave,” reads the statement.
“A mass grave was discovered on the territory of the Shusha prison. This once again confirms the fact that the Azerbaijanis held in the Shusha prison were subjected to terrible torture and inhuman treatment there.
We state with regret that these are not the only facts testifying to the crimes committed by Armenia in violation of the requirements of international humanitarian law. Thus, earlier appeals were sent to the world community and a separate report was prepared on the results of studies at the site of mass graves found in the village of Edilli, Khojavend district.
The regular detection of mass graves in the liberated territories once again proves the policy of genocide and ethnic cleansing pursued by Armenia against Azerbaijanis.
