
The 9th Reporting and Election General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Azerbaijan has taken place in Baku. The event, held at the NOC’s administrative building, brought together representatives from Olympic and non-Olympic sports federations and sports organizations, according to Report.
NOC Vice-President Chingiz Huseynzada highlighted the committee’s activities from 2022 to 2024. He emphasized that Azerbaijan is not only a regional leader in terms of economic development but also widely recognized as a sporting nation on the global stage.
Huseynzada drew attention to several major milestones in Azerbaijan’s sporting history during the reporting period, noting that the NOC’s work was extensive in scale, with achievements reaching new heights in both quality and quantity.
The report was unanimously approved through a vote, followed by a report from the NOC’s Audit Commission.
Madat Guliyev, President of the Cycling Federation, Javid Gurbanov, President of the Athletics Federation, and Farid Mansurov, speaking on behalf of the athletes, praised the report and the NOC’s activities, wishing success in future endeavors.
A significant highlight of the General Assembly was the re-election of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, as the President of the NOC.
