Virtual information sessions were held with countries party to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), with the participation of Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Energy Orkhan Zeynalov, to promote energy initiatives of Azerbaijan’s COP29 Presidency, Report informs, citing the ministry.

Virtual briefings were held jointly with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP), International Energy Agency (IEA), and International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The purpose was to provide detailed information about COP29 energy initiatives – Green Energy Pledge: Green Energy Zones and Corridors, Global Storage and Networks Pledge, and COP29 Hydrogen Declaration, and to discuss ways for countries to join and support these initiatives.

More than 200 representatives from the public sector, private sector, international organizations, and financial institutions participated in the two sessions held throughout the day.
