The National Hydrometeorology Department at Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources told Report that sleet and snow fell in the country by January 25.

The amount of precipitation was 9 mm in Lerik, 5 mm in Altiagac, 4 mm in Guba, Khaltan, Atara, 3 mm in Ordubad, 2 mm in Gusar, Griz, Khachmaz, 1 mm in Nabran, Khinaliq, Shabran, Yardimli, Maraza, Gadabay, Dashkasan, Shahbuz, Bilasuvar and Nakhchivan, 4 mm in Mashtaga, 3 mm in Baku and Bina, 1 mm in Sumgayit and Zabrat.

The snow cover reached 30 cm in Aghdere (Ordubad), 17 cm in Altiagac and Lerik, 10 cm in Khaltan and Griz, 9 cm in Khinaliq, 7 cm in Guba, 6 cm in Saribash (Gakh), 2 cm in Shahbuz, 1 cm in Nabran, Yardimli and Ordubad.

The minimum air temperature was close to 0 C in Baku, 7 to 12C in mountainous regions, and -16 to -19 in high mountain areas.
