Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Economy Sahib Mammadov has taken part in the 39th sesson of the Standing Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Report informs citing the Ministry of Economy that the event focused on improvement of cooperation between the member States of the organization in the sphere of electronic trade, as well as finances, transport, digitalization, private sector, agriculture, tourism, etc.

Mammadov noted that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of partnership with the OIC countries.

COMCEC, established in 1981 at the 3rd OIC Summit in Mecca, is the main platform for multilateral economic and trade cooperation. COMCEC is one of the 4 standing committees of the OIC, has 6 sectoral working groups (trade, finance, transport and communications, agriculture, tourism and poverty reduction).
