According to the combat training plan for 2021, the Rocket and Artillery Troops of the Azerbaijan Army held the live-fire tactical exercises, Defense Ministry told Report.
The exercises improved the command staff’s agile decision-making skills, as well as the knowledge and skills of servicemen, by working out fire control and other issues in cooperation with other types of troops.
During the exercises conducted in order to improve the field skills and practical skills of military personnel, Artillery Units were withdrawn to the assembly areas and took firing positions in designated areas.
The units destroyed the imaginary enemy’s targets with accurate fire and successfully fulfilled assigned tasks.
In accordance with the combat training plan of the Azerbaijan Air Force, Bayraktar unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) carried out training flights.
Report informs, citing the Ministry of Defense, that during live-fire training flights, the aerial reconnaissance was conducted in cooperation with units of other types of troops, and the coordinates of the imaginary enemy’s land-based targets were determined. The targets were destroyed by precise strikes.
The flights of aircraft were carried out through designated routes. In the course of the training held to improve combat skills, the UAV operators successfully fulfilled the assigned tasks.
The Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan has organized a media tour on the occasion of the first anniversary of the liberation of the Lachin district from the Armenian occupation, Report informs.
During the trip, the journalists visited the units of the Defense Ministry deployed in the liberated territories.
On December 1, 2021, the victorious Azerbaijani Army entered the Lachin district.
The media representatives visited the strategic combat post of the Azerbaijani Army in Lachin. The distance between the posts of the Azerbaijani Army and the Armenian Army is 10 to 150 meters.
The roads in the direction of the combat posts located on the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border have been widened, which greatly facilitates personnel and equipment access. Much work has been done to improve the service conditions for the Azerbaijani troops at combat posts deployed on the mountain top.
At present, the soldiers of Azerbaijan’s mighty army, standing face to face with the enemy, are proudly serving on the state border.
Warrant officer of the Azerbaijani Army Rovshan Abbasov told Report about the heroism shown by the Azerbaijani servicemen during the 44-day war: “As the Supreme Commander-in-Chief said, we crushed the enemy with an iron fist. We avenged our martyrs. I am proud to serve in this position. Our people can be sure that the Azerbaijani soldier stands firmly on guard of our borders. If the Armenians ever come forward with territorial claims against our country, they will regret it.”

According to the combat training plan for 2021, the Air Defense Units carried out combat firing.
Report informs, citing the Ministry of Defense, that the main purpose of the combat firing was to improve military personnel’s skills in using anti-aircraft mounts and further increase the combat capability of the units.
Combat crews of air defense assets professionally fulfilled tasks on destroying detected air targets of an imaginary enemy by practical firing.
In accordance with the combat training plan for 2021, live-fire tactical exercises were held in the mortar and artillery units of the Azerbaijani army, Report informs referring to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
The tasks of opening a command observation post and taking firing positions were completed during live-fire tactical exercises.
Mortar and artillery installations within the required time frame were brought to a state of full combat readiness, live firing at planned and unplanned targets was carried out.
Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov and the top brass of the ministry paid tribute to the Martyrs’ Alley in the city of Gusar. Flowers were laid at the memorial erected in honor of the martyrs, who fell for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, the press service of the Defense Ministry told Report.
The defense minister met with the leadership of the Gusar District executive authorities, families of martyrs, and the public representatives.
During the meeting, Salman Gurbanov, father of the National Hero Chingiz Gurbanov, on behalf of families of martyrs, expressed gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the leadership of the Defense Ministry for their attention and care, stressing that the victory in the Patriotic War gave great joy to the Azerbaijani people.
Noting that the Azerbaijani state highly honors the blessed memory of martyrs, Zakir Hasanov inquired about the problems and needs of the martyrs’ families.
Under the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev, the work to further increase the combat capability of the Azerbaijan Army is underway, Defense Ministry told Report.
Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov and the ministry’s leadership took part in the ceremony of presenting berets to service members of the newly-established commando unit.
First, the participants honored the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and Martyrs laying wreaths at the bust and their monument erected in the territory of the military unit.
The Minister of Defense met with the participants of the Patriotic War, invited to the presentation of berets, inquired about their problems and aspirations.
Then the ceremony of presenting berets to the military personnel was held.
At the opening ceremony, the memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and Martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was honored with a minute of silence. Then the national anthem was performed.
After the berets were presented to the successful servicemen of the Commando Training Courses, the personnel took the Commando Oath.
Delivering a speech at the ceremony, the Minister of Defense emphasized the importance of the Commando Training Courses, based on the experience of the Turkish Armed Forces, in further enhancing the professionalism of the servicemen and wished them success in the service. The Defense Minister gave relevant instructions to the military personnel on being constantly ready for fulfilling new combat tasks of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
Colonel-General Hasanov noted that the courage and heroism demonstrated by the servicemen of the Azerbaijan Army, as well as the personnel of the military units participating in the Patriotic War, are highly appreciated.
After getting acquainted with the special sports camp for the commandos, the Defense Minister watched the exemplary performances of the operational groups on physical training.
In the end, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense had lunch with the military personnel.
Police have revealed violations of the quarantine mode at 1033 nightclub in Baku’s Yasamal district, Report informs, citing the press service of the Interior Ministry.
During the police check at the club, it was found that the presence of a COVID-19 passport was not checked for visitors to the nightclub, the distance between the tables was not observed and hookah was offered to customers.
The manager of the nightclub, former convict Mehti Abbasov, and the club’s staff was detained.
