
Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) and the World Bank, has launched a series of training sessions on the implementation of a new budget mechanism and capacity building in this area, Report informs, citing the ministry.
The training sessions are being conducted as part of the “Strengthening Capacity for Medium-Term Expenditure Framework in Azerbaijan” project, jointly implemented by SECO and the World Bank. The first phase of the training covers theoretical and methodological issues related to the implementation of the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and the transition to a program and result-based budgeting mechanism.
A total of 55 representatives from 47 state bodies, whose activities fall under the functional classification of budget expenditures in the sectors of education, social protection and social security, agriculture, and environmental protection, have been identified as the target audience and invited to participate in the training.
