Azerbaijan has swiftly established the necessary conditions to host the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), said Mukhtar Babayev, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and COP29 President.
He highlighted that hosting such a significant and responsible forum has become a commitment that Azerbaijan has embraced. For years, Azerbaijan has drawn international attention with its innovative “green” energy and alternative energy projects, which are a priority for the country. The head of state has emphasized initiatives such as “green” energy zones and corridors, positioning Azerbaijan as a leader in this field.
“Thanks to these projects, the world has taken notice of Azerbaijan. By showcasing its leadership, Azerbaijan invited all nations to participate in climate discussions this November and has created the necessary conditions for the event,” Babayev added.
