Azerbaijan expresses gratitude to its allies who provided moral and political support in the matter of restoring its territorial integrity, political scientist Fikrat Sadikhov told Report.
Sadikhov dismissed the claims made by anti-Azerbaijani lobbyists in some European countries, particularly France, and the United States about foreign troops’ participation in the Patriotic War as baseless and far from reality. “This is, of course, a lie, and it is simply impossible to agree with such assertions. We are grateful to our allies for their political and moral support, and we have always valued and will continue to value this support in the future,” he stated.
The political scientist highlights that, unlike Armenians, Azerbaijanis did not wage war against civilians, conduct ethnic cleansing, or destroy cities and villages. “The whole world witnessed how skillfully, professionally, selflessly, and honorably Azerbaijanis fought, and after the war, we fully settled the Karabakh conflict through political means. The only remaining unresolved issue is the final settlement of relations with Armenia, but we are doing everything necessary to resolve this problem diplomatically as well,” he emphasized.
Sadikhov said the the main success in this confident victory and the worthy result of the actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces, soldiers, and officers were due to the skillful professional leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, who has a strong command of diplomatic art, political initiative, and adeptly builds relationships with many states.
“This assessment is not only shared by our people; many states and leaders of both Western powers and third world countries recognize this fact. The high regard for President Ilham Aliyev and his activities in all these areas has practically made Azerbaijan a leading state in the region, not only as a leading force and player but also as a serious and important state that plays a significant role in world politics and international relations,” Sadikhov declared.
The political scientist also underscored that, in the context of the current political situation, Azerbaijan and Türkiye are the initiators of the revival and development of the Organization of Turkic States. “We value the support provided to us by the Turkic countries, and we are confident that our multilateral meetings and summits will form the basis for further prosperity and development of our mutual interests in both the political and socio-economic spheres,” he said.
According to Sadikhov, the clear tasks set by the head of state are being implemented in both foreign and domestic policy. The competent steps in the field of state-building, authored undoubtedly by the President of Azerbaijan made the successes in socio-economic development evident.
