The Azeraeronavigation Air Traffic Department (AZANS) under Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL) is seeking to join the Green ATM accreditation program of the Civil Air Navigation Services Organization (CANSO), the Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiyev at the World Aviation Summit in Baku, Report informs.
“This again reflects our shared commitment to sustainability and innovation in air traffic management,” he said.
The minister added that CANSO’s initiatives, such as the Green ATM program, aim to minimize carbon emissions and promote ecologically clean practices:
“As for sustainability, I would like to especially mention the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held in Baku this November. During this conference, world leaders will come together to assess progress and discuss the best ways to deal with climate change.”
