“Unfortunately, we have not discussed the issue of opening mosques,” Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Shahmar Movsumov said at a briefing of the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers, Report says.

According to him, this year was unexpected and particular: “The main issue today is to protect people’s health. Therefore, we cannot open mosques.”

Considering the decreasing number of COVID-19 cases and the need to strengthen economic activity, the Task Force under the Cabinet of Ministers decided to allow operation in some production, trade, and service areas.
