Azerbaijan lays a special emphasis on border security, Maharram Aliyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Head of the Military Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said at the 86th session of the Council of Commanders of the CIS Border Troops.
Aliyev noted that this year marks 100th anniversary of the national leader of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, who laid the foundation of the country’s border security. He also stressed the contribution of the great leader in training officers in Azerbaijan.
“As a result of war, our territories were liberated and territorial integrity restored. Work is underway to use new methods of defending the borders of our country,” the assistant to president said.
Maharram Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan is committed to ensuring sustainable peace in the South Caucasus.
