Armenian customs officials have seized approximately 900 narcotic tablets concealed within a postal package originating from France, according to the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.
Report informs via Armenian media that the illicit cargo was meticulously inspected, revealing a staggering 886 Subutex tablets cleverly hidden inside chewing gum packets. Subutex, a brand name for buprenorphine, is a powerful opioid medication used to treat severe pain and opioid addiction. However, it is also frequently abused and trafficked illegally.
Following the alarming find, law enforcement authorities swiftly launched a criminal investigation into the illegal circulation of narcotics.
Two suspects, a father identified as A.V. and his son N.V., have been detained and subsequently arrested by court order in connection with the case.
