The Armenian Parliamentary Commission on State and Legal Affairs has voted against amendments to the Criminal Code of this country, which would impose criminal liability for renouncing the right to self-determination of Karabakh, Report informs referring to Sputnik Armenia.

The project was proposed by the HayaKve civil initiative.

The bill envisioned criminalizing the ban on recognizing Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan and leveling the significance of the so-called “Armenian genocide.”

Thus, the project against the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan didn’t pass in the Armenian parliament, despite street protests and the collection of votes in its support.
