The ruling faction of the Armenian parliament ‘My Step’ has nominated Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for the post of Prime Minister to begin the procedure for dissolving the parliament and holding early elections, Report informs referring to RIA Novosti.

“The holding of early elections is possible only in one case – if the parliament doesn’t elect a prime minister twice. That is why we are nominating Nikol Pashinyan for the post of Prime Minister of Armenia,” said the head of the faction Lilit Makunts.

Earlier, Pashinyan said that he was resigning to hold early parliamentary elections in the country. He noted that during the pre-election period he will continue to act as head of government.
