Armenia has accepted Azerbaijan’s proposal for a peace treaty, but it does not take effective steps to that end, Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova said at the 3rd General Congress of the ECO Parliamentary Assembly in Baku on Tuesday.

The speaker noted that Armenia must fulfill its obligations.

“Azerbaijan is one of the most mine-contaminated countries, but it receives the least financial assistance from international organizations for demining. The mine problem is a major obstacle to the ongoing reconstruction work in the liberated Azerbaijani territories,” Gafarova added.
