“Azerbaijan is one of the few countries in the world where all patients infected with the coronavirus are treated in medical institutions”, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said at the opening of three modular hospitals on June 9.

“Today is a very significant day. Three modular hospitals are being opened in our country. These hospitals will treat coronavirus infected patients. This is the next important step in the fight against coronavirus”, the President said.

“The first modular hospital opened a month ago, on May 7. Currently, the number of these hospitals has reached four. At the opening ceremony held on May 7, I noted that the number of these hospitals should reach 10. I hope that in the near future – by the end of the month, the remaining 6 hospitals will be established. Thus, we will have an additional 2,000 beds, which will further expand our capabilities in the fight against coronavirus.”

“It is gratifying that 4 of these 10 hospitals will be built by the private sector at its own expense. I would like to thank the representatives of the private sector and, at the same time, other citizens for their financial support during the coronavirus. As you know, the Coronavirus Support Fund was established on my initiative, and initially, 20 million manat was allocated to this fund from the President’s reserve fund.
