Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) have launched a joint project “Supporting the Safe Return of Internally Displaced People Through the Capacity Building of the Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA)”, Report informs.

The relevant document on the implementation of the project was signed on February 7 in Shusha by UNDP Acting Resident Representative in Azerbaijan Nuno Queiroz and Chairman of the Board of ANAMA Vugar Suleymanov.

This project is expected to strengthen and expand ANAMA’s institutional capacity in policy and data management. It is aimed at joining efforts to clear mines from the liberated territories in order to speed up the process of the return of former internally displaced persons there.
