International support needs to be strengthened to address the consequences of the mine problem in the Karabakh region, Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA), said during the 3rd international conference on Mitigating Environmental Impact of Landmines: Resource Mobilization for Safe and Green Future in Zangilan.

According to Report, he noted that 10,285 square kilometers of the liberated territories are considered to be contaminated with mines and unexploded ordnance to varying degrees.

Suleymanov emphasized that the impact of landmines and other explosive devices extends throughout the region.
