In 2024, new enterprises that started operations in industrial zones managed by the Economic Zones Development Agency (EZDA) under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy invested a total of 48.6 million manats ($28.6 million) in the country, Agency Chairman Seymur Adigozalov said, Report informs.

According to him, 389 permanent jobs were created: “These enterprises are engaged in the production of various construction materials, footwear, railway equipment, electrical and other products. It is particularly gratifying that most of the newly operating enterprises are located in the Aghdam Industrial Park.”

He noted that 152 business entities with an investment portfolio of 7.9 billion manats ($4.6 billion) were granted resident status, and 10 entrepreneurs were granted non-resident status in industrial zones: “Entrepreneurs have invested 6.9 billion manats ($4 billion) in industrial zones, 84 enterprises have started operations, and more than 10,700 permanent jobs have been created. Additionally, in the next phase, existing projects are expected to attract more than 1 billion manats ($588 million) in additional investment to industrial zones and create more than 8,000 permanent jobs.”
