This year’s Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will be held in two stages in view of the continuing challenges posed by COVID-19 to travel, health, and safety of participants, Report informs referring to ADB.

On May 5, a virtual meeting of the Board of Governors will be held to consider ADB’s financial statements and net income allocation.

On September 5-8, a full-scale Annual Meeting will be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka to address the remaining items in the Annual Meeting agenda and events.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding signed between ADB and the Government of Sri Lanka on September 29, 2021, the 2022 Annual Meeting was scheduled to be held in Colombo May 2-5.

The 48th Annual Meeting of the ADB Board of Governors was held in Baku in 2015. Azerbaijan’s manager in the bank is Azerbaijani Finance Minister Samir Sharifov.

ADB was established in 1966 and has 67 member countries. The bank’s headquarters is located in Manila, Philippines. Azerbaijan was accepted as a member of the ADB on December 22, 1999, the country’s share in the bank’s capital is 0.5%.
