Azerbaijan plans to implement the international standard of digital radio broadcasting, DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting Plus), across 70% of its territory, Elman Hasanov, the acting general director of the Teleradio Production Association, said, according to Report.
He noted that DAB+ technologies are already being used in over 55 countries worldwide, primarily in Europe, Australia, and some parts of Asia and Africa. This cutting-edge technology allows for the transmission of 12-18 FM (frequency modulation) channels on a single frequency.
To kickstart this digital transformation, 3-kilowatt DAB+ transmitters will be installed on the Baku TV Tower and the Gulistan station in the Aghsu district by the end of the year.
