Six people went missing in a fishing boat fire that broke out in waters off southwestern South Korea on February 13, according to Yonhap news agency, Report informs via Xinhua.

The coast guard was notified at around 8:39 a.m. local time (2339 GMT on Wednesday) that the 34-ton fishing vessel caught fire in waters off Buan County, about 200 km southwest of the capital Seoul.

Among eleven people on board the ill-fated ship, five were rescued but six others remained unaccounted for.

The coast guard dispatched 10 patrol boats to the scene and asked nearby ships for help.
