The 4th international conference on “Shaping the Geopolitics of the Greater Eurasia: from Past to Present to Future” organized by ADA University to mark the 100th anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev has started in Shusha.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the conference.
On September 24, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and other high-ranking officers of the Ministry visited the Main Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense, Report informs, citing the ministry.
First, flowers were laid at the monument to National Leader Heydar Aliyev erected in the territory of the hospital. The memory of the Great Leader and Shehids, who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was honored with observing a minute of silence.
The Defense Ministry’s leadership met with servicemen undergoing treatment in the hospital after being wounded during local anti-terror measures conducted in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, as well as enquired about their health and concerns.
The Minister of Defense was reported that the hospital’s medical personnel are working with high professionalism for the treatment of wounded servicemen.
The Minister visited servicemen being treated in the wards, enquired about their health and rehabilitation process, as well as wished them a speedy recovery and return to their places of service.
The Defense Minister emphasized that the significant military successes achieved by Azerbaijani servicemen in a short period of time in all directions during anti-terror measures by showing heroism, courage and professionalism in difficult terrain conditions, were highly appreciated by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev.
In the end, the Minister gave relevant instructions on more qualitative organization of the medical service provided to wounded servicemen.
On September 23, at about 19:35 (GMT +4), the technical surveillance means of the Azerbaijan Army recorded the fact of mass burning of residential houses by Armenian residents in Aghdara direction, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
The Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan has presented the list of military equipment, weapons and ammunition siezed by September 23, after the completion of local anti-terror measures carried out in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, Report informs.
The ministry noted that activities to disarm illegal armed formations in the region are underway.
On September 21, an injured Armenian woman approached the Azerbaijan Army’s servicemen in the territory of the Khojavand region and asked them for help, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
The Azerbaijan Army’s servicemen immediately provided the injured woman with first aid and evacuated her to the nearest military hospital.
Azerbaijani professional military doctors conducted a surgical operation on the resident of Armenian origin. Her current condition is satisfactory.
Ammunition storage was found in the territory of the Gozlukorpu settlement of Azerbaijan’s Kalbajar region, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
The outbuildings of the farm located in the territory of the settlement were used as ammunition storage for a long time. Rockets, artillery shells, mines and ammunition of various calibers were stored there.
It was also defined that the mentioned ammunition was delivered to the farm by an ambulance.
Representative of Azerbaijan’s President for Special Assignments Elchin Amirbayov gave an interview to France’s I24 channel. He said that after the anti-terrorist measures, Azerbaijan fully restored its sovereignty over its territory.

In order to ensure the provisions of the Trilateral Statement, to stop large-scale provocations in the Karabakh economic region, to disarm and withdraw formations of the Armenian armed forces from the territories of Azerbaijan, to neutralize their military infrastructure, to ensure the safety of the peaceful population returning to the territories liberated from occupation, civil servants involved in construction and reconstruction works, and our military personnel, as well as to restore the constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan, anti-terrorist measures have been launched in the region.
Only military targets belonging to illegal armed formations of the separatist regime are put out of action with the use of high-precision weapons available in the arsenal of the Azerbaijani Army.
Karabakh is Azerbaijani territory, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday, asserting that the imposition of any other status for the region would never be accepted.
“We have supported the negotiation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia from the beginning. However, we see that Armenia has not fully seized this historic opportunity,” Erdogan said in his address at the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
He expressed Türkiye’s expectation that Armenia fulfil its commitments, especially those related to the opening of the Zangezur corridor, a key planned unimpeded road through Armenian territory connecting Azerbaijan to its Nakhchivan exclave.
“As everyone now accepts, Karabakh is Azerbaijani territory. The imposition of any other status will never be accepted,” Erdogan underlined, adding that the primary goal should now be peaceful coexistence for all, including Armenians, on Azerbaijani territory.
Türkiye supports Azerbaijan’s steps to preserve its territorial integrity, he said.
On Tuesday Azerbaijan launched “counter-terrorism measures” in Karabakh to uphold provisions outlined in a November 2020 trilateral peace agreement it signed with Russia and Armenia following 44 days of clashes with Yerevan.
Steps were taken to “suppress large-scale provocations in the Karabakh economic region, to disarm and secure the withdrawal of formations of Armenia’s armed forces from our territories, neutralize their military infrastructure, provide the safety of the civilian population which returned to territories liberated from occupation, civilians involved in construction and restoration work and our military personnel, and ultimately restore the constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” the country’s Defense Ministry said.
Relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia have been tense since 1991 when the Armenian military occupied Nagorno-Karabakh, a territory internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan, and seven adjacent regions.
Military facilities and combat equipment of the Armenian armed forces’ formations located at strategically important high grounds are being destroyed by precise fire strikes, according to the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry.
The Defense Ministry also shared a video showing the destruction of Armenia’s military facilities and combat equipment.
Starting from September 19, the local anti-terrorist activities conducted by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Karabakh economic region successfully continue.
Report informs, citing the Ministry of Defense, that Azerbaijan Army Units neutralized combat positions, military vehicles, artillery and anti-aircraft missile launchers, radio-electronic combat stations and other military means belonging to formations of the Armenian armed forces.
The Azerbaijani Army inflicted destructive fire strikes on several trenches, shelters, and military convoys of the Armenian armed forces formations in the Karabakh economic region, according to the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan.
The ministry also released a video reflecting the strikes inflicted by the Azerbaijani Army.
The information shared on Armenian social media accounts that Azerbaijan Armed Forces allegedly subjected to fire civilian population and civilian infrastructure is completely false and disinformation, Report informs, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense.
“As we repeatedly stated, civilian population and civilian facilities are not targeted by the Azerbaijan Armed Forces, only legitimate military targets are neutralized,” the Ministry said in a statement.
