The year 2024 has etched its name in history as the one with the highest number of temperature records broken worldwide.

According to Report, which cites The Guardian, a staggering 15 countries have witnessed their hottest days ever recorded, according to renowned climatologist Maximilliano Herrera.

The sheer number of extreme heat events surpasses anything that has ever happened or was previously thought possible. The period from February to July 2024 has been record-breaking by all statistical measures, Herrera stated in an interview with the publication.

Since the beginning of the year, 130 monthly heat records have been shattered across various countries. Mexico experienced a scorching 52°C, while Egypt and Mali saw temperatures soar to 50.9°C and 48.5°C, respectively.
