
Twelve soldiers were slightly injured in a collision between two armored personnel carriers on a training ground at the Werratal barracks in Germany’s Bad Salzungen (Wartburg district), Report informs referring to DPA.
The Marder tanks collided head-on during a training exercise on Monday afternoon, according to a Bundeswehr spokesperson on Tuesday.
The exact cause of the accident is being investigated. According to initial findings, visibility was poor and the tanks were driving sideways against each other in a valley.
According to the spokesman, some of the injured armored infantrymen were treated on site and others were taken to civilian clinics – six soldiers were treated overnight.
