There are plans to install 100 smart bus stops in Baku in the next two years, Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) under the Ministry of Economy told Report.

The work is underway to install smart bus stops in Baku. The installation is carried out with the joint support of the Baku Transport Agency and KOBIA.

The project, implemented through a public-private partnership, will be fully funded and managed by the private sector.

Domestically produced smart bus stops have many advantages. An air-conditioning system is installed in the pavilion of the bus stops, which is an innovation in the city’s public transport infrastructure. The bus stops have modern equipment, surveillance cameras and monitors. Lighting and power supply of bus stops will be partially provided by solar panels. There will also be minibars with coffee, tea, water, etc.
